Three steps, each a fixed price

You commit one step at a time. Each step gives you something useful on its own, and a clear basis for deciding whether to take the next one.

Step 1

Assessment

A$20,000 to A$40,000 + GST, fixed fee, quoted before we start.

A written review of the system, its data and how it is used, the risks, the migration approach and a fixed-price proposal for the rebuild.

The report is yours, whether or not you go ahead with us.

Step 2

Pilot

Fixed price, set in the assessment.

One meaningful part of the system rebuilt end to end, with its tests, on your data in a test environment. It is the cheapest way to judge the quality before committing to the rest.

Step 3

Delivery

Fixed price, paid 30% at the start, 40% when the parallel run begins and 30% after cut-over.

The full rebuild, parallel run, rehearsed migration and cut-over, followed by 90 days of support, included in the price.

How we price a rebuild

AI changes how much engineering time a rebuild takes. Our own survey platform took about 14,000 person-days to build the first time. Rebuilding it with AI took under 40 (see the case study). Our prices reflect that.

Your system will take longer than ours did. We knew our own product inside out; with yours, we first have to learn your business, your data and your users. The assessment tells you how long your rebuild will take, and we quote it as a fixed price.

Effort is not the whole price. Understanding your business, rehearsing the migration and validating the result take real time from experienced people, and those are the parts that make a rebuild safe.

Common questions

What size of system do you take on?

Web and desktop business applications in any of the technologies we modernise, such as PHP, ASP.NET, VB6, Java or Access on SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL, built by a team of up to about 20 developers. Our own platform, at about 14,000 person-days of original effort, is the size we have proven. If yours is larger, the assessment tells us both whether we are the right fit.

Do we need to give you access to production data?

Not for the assessment, beyond the schema and anonymised samples. A full copy is needed only for migration rehearsals, in an environment you approve.

Who owns the new code?

You do. Ownership of the source code, tests and documentation passes to you as each invoice is paid. We keep only our general tools and know-how, which we reuse across projects.

What happens if the pilot does not convince us?

You stop there. You keep the assessment, the pilot code and its tests, and you owe nothing further.

Can the work stay entirely in Australia?

Yes, on request. Our Australia-only option keeps the code, the data, the people and the AI services in Australia, with any extra cost set out in the assessment. See Quality and AI governance.

Do you work outside Australia?

We focus on Australian organisations today. If you are elsewhere, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Ready to talk about your system?

Tell us what it does, what it runs on and what is worrying you. We will reply within two business days.
